A feared and revered opponent, you spent the best years of your life in the underworld of the battlefield, blasting through enemy terrain and completing treacherous assassin missions. Days turned to nights, which turned to weeks and months with you entrenched in the brutalities of war in the bittersweet service of death. Your bravery was renowned, both celebrated and feared, until the day you sustained numerous injuries in an explosion. Enemies swarmed your squad, but your body betrayed you, and you were unable to retaliate or flee. Just like the men laying still in a pool of their own blood, so you were left behind. Passing out from the pain, you awaken in a sterile white laboratory. At first you are alone. What happened to you? Then you remember, and the echo of pain lives on like a distant, but persistent memory. Instinctively you try to move, but you are pinned down. Upon further inspection, you notice a newness about yourself. There is no pain, no anything. Then someone appears. The man in no one you recognize. Friend or foe? He lets you free of your restraints, pokes and prods at you like a lab rat instead of the soldier you are. You wait quietly, curious to see what he is doing and if he'll explain. Just as your patience is wearing thin, the man speaks. You were a goner, left for dead. But a comrade reported you fallen, and you were reclaimed. No longer any good to the military broken and bleeding as you were, you were whisked away here where you would become a lab rat. This was twelve years ago. Here you would breathe your last breath, or you would become the superhuman they created you to be. Through many trials and tribulations, their experiment became a success. You are beyond human strength, a feat of power beyond the comprehensible. A second chance, as it were. You will become the hero the world needs.
